Beginning Projects Guidelines

ORDER GUIDELINE QUESTIONNAIRE FOR BEGINNING PROJECTS
  1. Please give a general overview of what products you wish to process.
  2. Advise: Daily input of raw materials, including as much detail as possible, such as how the raw materials are received, and the temperature of raw materials being received.
  3. Advise: How many hours per day and day's per week are projected. If an hourly capacity has been specified, that will also be helpful.
  4. Advise: Percentage breakdown of various final products being manufactured. Example: For a fluid milk plant, you may wish to produce 20% skim milk, 60% whole milk, and 20% specific by-products or for a cheese plant, you may wish to produce 60% hard cheese in 40 lb. blocks and 40% mozzarella cheese. This information allows for efficient equipment utilization.
  5. Advise: Final package size and type of packaging for finished products, when packaging equipment is requested.
  6. Advise: Type of process heat to be used, (steam, hot water, electric), and type of fuel (oil, gas, etc.).
  7. Advise: Electrical characteristics of the area (volts, phase, cycles).
  8. Advise: Type of refrigeration (ammonia or freon 22, or other) desired for processing & cold storage.
  9. Advise: Specific machines desired by capacity if known, description if know, as well as brand name if a preference exists, and any other pertinent data available.
  10. When a building or process area has been chosen, providing a floor plan would be most helpful to us.
Quotations for specific requests containing all of the above information are provided as quickly as possible and at no cost, (based upon availability of machinery on hand). Drawings and designs submitted only upon receipt of order. PROCEDURE APPLICABLE WHERE CLIENT HAS NOT FORMULATED A DETAILED PLAN AND CANNOT PROVIDE THE FIELDS OF INFORMATION AS REQUESTED ABOVE, OR REQUESTS A PROJECT OR PLANT ANALYSIS OR FEASIBILITY STUDY.
  1. Submit a request for a consultation and design proposal based upon the best available answers to questions outlined previously. If some answers are not available, IME will provide reasonable assumptions.
  2. Advise if a building is available, under construction, or not yet acquired. When the building specifications are available, a floor plan is preferred.
  3. Based upon this information, a prompt proposal for preliminary consultation and design services will be submitted, along with appropriate terms and conditions.
  4. Final project design and consulting package (if purchased) will include preliminary drawings, specifications and machinery details. Pricing of consultation and design work will depend on the size and scope of the project.

Design and Consultation for a Cheese Facility includes the following package:

  • Building Floor Plant Layout
  • Equipment Layout Design & Drawing
  • Process Flow Diagram for Milk, Cream, Water, Air & Stream
  • Refrigeration Analysis
  • Sizing & Flow Diagrams for Milk, Cream, Water, Air, & Steam
